Investiture Ceremony 11th Sep 2008

With
the new school year well on its way, it is election time in the primary,
middle and senior school. The primary and the middle school have already
chosen their council and the excited council members have already planned
out activities such as teacher’s day.
There was a whole election campaign going on in middle school. There were
colorful badges, stickers and bracelets floating all around with the
candidates’ names. The students had to be creative and come up with names
for their campaigns. Some that really stood out were SMILE (which actually
was the winning campaign). The students put in a lot of effort and
creativity into designing their campaign, that is why I guess it took so
long for the teachers to decide the actual outcome of the elections(more
than 2 weeks!!), which was a bit long for eager hearts to be waiting. But
everyone was satisfied with the results in the end.
Proud parents and teachers looked on as their students/children were given
badges by Dr Naidu and the president and the four house captains were handed
over the flags by the outgoing council. The 2 guests of honors both gave
their very motivating speeches. The investiture ceremony which I attended,
had Mr. Sandeep Choudhry giving a very encouraging and an interactive speech
to the audience. He gave the example of the movie “Taare Zameen Par”, and
said that each child is special and that shines like a star in his/her own
field.
There was also a power point presentation showing the pictures of the
students elected, which was very creatively done. The teachers involved in
organizing the whole event certainly deserve to be applauded, for the event
ran smoothly without any glitches.
The ceremony was followed by some refreshments for the parents and teachers.
The students, after their hours of practice on how to hold the flag properly
and at what pace to walk in, executed their tasks to perfection. All in all
a very deserving group of students and hope they live up to the expectations
of everyone, especially their peers.

Middle
school held the Investiture Ceremony on the morning of 11th September, 2008.
At the Investiture Ceremony, the School Director, Dr. Sarvesh Naidu formally
gave the school badges to the elected student council members.
To grace the occasion we had, Mr. Sandeep Chaudhry, an accomplished and
skilful writer and his wife - Mrs. Manisha Chaudhry, she produces television
programs. The esteemed couple are management consultants and recipients of
many prestigious awards as well. Also present at the ceremony was Mrs. Susan
Lobo, an artist and a Training Manager with leading airlines.
As a part of the traditional ceremony, parents of the newly elected student
council were cordially invited to be a part of the event.
The morning of 11th September was special as the parents, the special
invitees, heads of the school and the board members started coming in at
9:00 am.
The show started at 9:30 in the morning with a very peppy song and School
Orchestra welcoming the parents and guests.
It started with last year’s student council walking up to the stage with
their house flags for handing over their formal responsibilities to the new
members. With the new student council walking up the stage, it looked very
graceful and surely it was an important day in the lives of the elected
members of the council. As Pranay Jain, last year’s Vice President and an
experienced council member gave his message to the new team, the council
members listened in rapture.
The new student council members, walked up to the stage and got their
badges, this was followed by an oath full of promises by them.
A few words of encouragement and best wishes by Dr. Naidu, Mrs. Lobo, and
our other chief guests closed the ceremony and started a new journey for the
new student council.
