Article - Music and Dance Evening
Pathways Gurgaon

On the evening of March 3rd , 2017, a ‘Music’ and Dance Evening’ was hosted by Middle School. Dusk fell as the audience took their places in the amphitheater. The comperes, Yashvarya Goyal, Aryan Yogi, Nargis Dalal and Kashwi Aggarwal, invited Mr. Prashant Jain, School Director, Capt. Rohit Sen Bajaj, Senior School Principal, Ms. Sangeeta Nag, and Middle School Principal, Ms. Dimpu Sharma, to facilitate the lighting of the lamp.

Following the singing of the National Anthem, Grade 6 students performed the Indian dance ‘Natesway Kavutham’, and the Indian ensemble the ‘Rag Bhopali’. The Pathways orchestra then proceeded to play the songs ‘Match of the Day’ and ‘Symphony No.25’, the latter of which was written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Each performance elicited shouts of acclamation and applause from the audience.

The western band showcased a myriad of songs: ‘Zombie’ by ‘The Cranberries’, ‘It's My Life’ by Bon Jovi, ‘The Summer of ‘69’’ by Bryan Adams, and ‘Don't Stop Believing’ by ‘Journey’. This lauded performance was soon followed by a jazz-funk routine, executed with precision by Grade 8 students.

As the end of the event drew near, the dance ‘Kaliya Nartanam‘ and a rendition of the piano ragtime piece ‘The Entertainer‘ was showcased. The school song was played by the orchestra to cap off this event.
