Pathways World School Aravali stands for diversity and solidarity, a safe haven for all ideas, contexts and communities to flourish. It attempts at cultivating not only exemplary students but also citizens of the global community. The blind compassion of students was evident on the 20th of November 2019, which began with much fervor and vibrance at Pathways World School, Aravali. The students of Middle School hosted ‘Apna Gaon’, a day celebrating the spirit of community. The day attempted at bridging gaps across our community through a collective lunch, symbolic of solidarity. Students dressed in traditional attire, symbolise synthesis of culture. A hope for unity and solidarity within our community was a prominent and over-powering sight.
A number of visitors from villages adjoining the School brought with them a zest for celebration and a diversity. Among them, were students from eighteen neighboring Schools and the Village Panchayat. Lunch was a colourful event, the excessive contrast bringing each element together, each belonging in the flurry of movement. The meal brought together the whole Pathways community in addition to the visitors from the village. It gave each member, the opportunity to recognize, appreciate and celebrate other members of Pathways, members like the support staff and grounds staff, who work tirelessly behind ‘the purple curtains’. Students of Middle School helped serve the visitors and make sure the event progressed smoothly and efficiently.
The Pathways World School visions a future of strong, compassionate and intuitive individuals, individuals who aren’t afraid to learn and welcome unfamiliarity. ‘Apna Gaon’ is an initiative by Pathways that we will definitely consider continuing, because nothing feels better than solidarity and a sense of oneness.
