centre stage

Centre Stage is an after-school Speech and Drama based program which aims to develop and strengthen life skills of children. The program is inspired from the “Speech and Communications” program of Trinity College London.

Through a process of first reading good literature and poetry and then transforming reading through creative drama into a personal, experiential engagement with age relevant issues of life, children are encouraged to be Innovative Thinkers, Creative Problem Solvers, Informed Decision Makers & Leaders.

This approach also provides an opportunity to enhance communication skills through drama games which focus on voice modulation, voice projection, pronunciation, pace, pitch, stress, pause and intonation. Students engage in Group Discussions, Mock Interviews and Negotiations to build self-confidence, increased critical thinking and public speaking skills. Sharing time, physical and vocal warm up, loud reading, storytelling, drama project and brainstorming are integral part of a regular session.
