For the Diploma Programme students career exploration is an ongoing journey. Planning begins long before, so that they take right steps towards their career. This crucial judgement relies on a myriad of factors, and the search for a perfect university seems like the task of piecing a puzzle together! University fairs provide students with an opportunity to explore, discover and analyse the courses and disciplines they can pursue to achieve the career of their dreams.
The KIC University fair on 20 August 2019, provided an interactive platform for the students of the Diploma Programme to gain information and meet the representatives of universities from United States of America. The Delegates from several universities like DePaul University, Ohio University, The University of Kansas and Washington College participated in it. Mr Swaraj Nandan, the Co-founder Director of KIC, lead an insightful discussion on the college application process. Following this, university delegates conducted a session on the characteristics of an ideal student profile, as well as busted some myths regarding the acceptance process of college applications. Later, an interactive round of questions and answers helped in clarifying individual doubts and provided more clarity about aligning subject and career choices.
The students learned about numerous universities in the United States of America and the courses offered by them. They availed the chance to interact with the university delegates and ask important questions pertaining to their interests and aspirations. The session helped the students attain clarity about the ways to achieve their future career goals. Mitali Manglam, a student of Year two of the Diploma Programme who considered the experience highly enriching said, “The sessions were fruitful for students whose primary focus is to join a liberal arts college. The delegates were very patient and satisfactorily answered all the questions.”
