Grade 1 visit Honey Money Top Pathways Noida
Grade 1 is inquiring into 'Systems we create to organize ourselves better'. To take our inquiry further, we took our little explorers to find out, explore and observe the grocery store 'Honey-Money Top'. It was an enthralling sight to see them looking around carefully and discussing how all the candies are kept in one place, toys at another place and toiletries separately. Their frowning was evidently portraying their inquisitive and wonderful queries. They were trying to find out, how and on what basis the shop manager separated different things. It was interesting to hear some meaningful reasoning like, "I think they have kept one brand at one place like Dove shampoos"; "Even baby products are kept together"; "Now we know, where we need to turn, to get all varieties of chips". It was heartwarming to see them understanding that it looks neat when we keep things according to size and style of packaging. They were able to infer that the store manager has kept all the bottles together, packets together and boxes together to make it easy to choose and buy and thus save time. They could scaffold and differentiate the terms 'organized' and 'un-organized' through their exposure to a real grocery store.
This excursion helped us in building up our conversation and digging deeper into how a system looks and functions. It also gave a real picture of what 'Organized' looks like.
