Exercising autonomy and ownership, Avaani Singh of PYP 5P organized a guest speaker session with her father Mr. Jatinder Pal Singh who owns a glass factory. The session aimed at strengthening student understanding about ‘Matter’ under the transdisciplinary theme, How the World Works. Mr. Singh took the students for a virtual field trip to his factory and showed the changes that takes place to get a final glass product. He also explained the processes involved in changing the raw glass to a finished glass piece.

To support the virtual trip, he sent a glass density measuring equipment and glass samples in different stages to make deeper connections. Students were inquisitive throughout the session and asked many questions to satisfy their curiosity.
