‘Travelling Tales’ is a digital storytelling project that supports global collaboration and student voice among schools around the world. Each Tale shares a message to make people aware of the United Nations SDG (Sustainable Development Goals).
Grade 4 of Pathways School Noida, along with many other schools across the world, signed up for Tribes of Travelling Tales in the Month of August 2019. The interested schools which registered for the event were randomly grouped and the members connected through mail and google doc. The collaborating teachers and schools within our group were:
The group agreed that collaboration and communication is key.
The team agreed that the first class sets the SDG and the rest build on the story. The starting class chose Gender Equality as the SDG. The toughest challenge was working around school schedules.
The students at Pathways school used the Adobe Spark Tool well as they were quite familiar with the ICT tool. They were at their creative best as they added details to the narrative, designed the story board and did the associated voice over. The knowledge about current affairs helped them apply their learning to build the story in an authentic manner.
The teachers and students are eagerly looking forward to the published version of the tale they created collaboratively.
