Kingdergarten's Rewild Farm Pathways Noida
On 7th December Our Kindergartners enjoyed their visit to the 'Rewild Life Biodiversity Farm'. Students had the chance to be outdoors and connect with nature. They were engaged in meaningful work, learning about where their food comes from and why it is important to know this. They appreciated the experience of a real working farm, which helped them gain first-hand experience of how fruit and vegetables grow.
Excitement and enthusiasm was visible on their faces the moment we set out in the bus. The children had a tour of the farm and were excited to see climbers, creepers and bushes that they had learnt about.
They identified vegetables such as spinach, lettuce, tomatoes and got to see many more such as eggplant and cabbage.Their excitement knew no bounds when they found carrots and tomatoes almost ready to be harvested. They can now confidently speak about different vegetables that grow under the soil and above it.
The gardener showed our Kindergarteners how seeds grow. They were super excited to sow fenugreek seeds being sown into a patch of soil, they also pulled carrots and turnips out from the soil. They took a sneak peek at the vermicompost and listened carefully to how useful this is for plants. The fruit trees and flowers were yet another attraction. They were particularly intrigued by the colourful display of marigolds, roses, chrysanthemums and sunflowers.
Stopping by at the animal shed gave them a glimpse of how cows, calves and buffaloes are well taken care of by the farm caretakers. What excited them most was the butterfly farm where they witnessed the life cycle of a butterfly. They also got an opportunity to watch different birds and busy bees.
Back in school our Kindergarteners reflected on their farm visit through illustrations, which was an excellent way to capture their learning.
