One day while we were thinking of problems around us, we noticed many things like: pollution, smog, more and more people getting breathing problems, the rising level of SPM etc. We all came up with an idea where we could actually serve the community and make a difference. We decided to choose a plant organization and we found the perfect one, Plan a plant organization which is in noida sector 2. This is an organisation where people are fighting against pollution through their small but remarkable efforts of planting and adopting plants. We contacted the foundation, decided dates when we could meet them. That went pretty good but we thought that just giving them money was not enough. Instead of using our parents' money we thought of earning money ourselves. We thought of doing a Bake Sale! The challenge we faced was that since our community project centred around environment, we could not justify buying food from outside since that would have entailed a lot of plastic waste, so we decided to get home made food. However, the plan did not prove successful due to poor coordination and so on the day we managed to sell only ice tea and ice cream. We lost hope and were blaming each other for the loss but were encouraged by our teachers and parents alike since they appreciated our efforts and intent. The fact that we had used school steel plates and glasses instead of plastic plates or cups got us positive feedback. We learned important lessons during this Bake Sale as it made us realise that we should not take things for granted. We also feel gratitude towards the school cafeteria staff as they supported us in our endeavour.
