Grade 7 students of Pathways School Noida visited Anand gram for their visual art unit on story telling through personal and cultural identity. They were fascinated to discover that only natural made articles were used in the bygone era and it took care of most needs of people from toys to utensils. They learned about the creation of different 2D and 3D art forms including terracotta, wall painting, the making of utensils with clay and copper. They came back fascinated with what they discovered.
Students could see how art has been preserved over the years to keep our cultural art and heritage alive. They visited the Museum of everyday Art of India, Museum of Indian Terracotta and Museum of Indian Textiles. They were fascinated to see objects from Indus Valley civilization, ending with the late medieval brick temples of Bengal covering the entire range of the genre through ancient and medieval periods. The best of Indian textiles traditions of resist-dyes fabrics were put on display.
