To have a deeper understanding of our ongoing unit in UOI (Unite of Inquire) on 'Peace and Conflict', grade 3 went for an experiential learning to Gandhi Smriti on 23rd October 2019. Gandhi Smriti is a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi and is on Tees January Marg, New Delhi, India.
Gandhiji exemplifies peace. Children were enthralled to see his life journey and specially how he died under the same roof. They asked lots of questions and made note of important events in his life. Children also understood power of unity, through the experiential Unity Tower at the museum. They got a chance to peek into Gandhiji's life journey through the models, realia and information on display. It was heartening to see how each child connected to one or the other aspect of Gandhiji. The display of all the work done by Gandhiji for our Nation during the freedom struggle was acknowledged by children. They dwelled deeper on the Gandhian philosophy of non-violence and how it is relevant in modern times.
