Our enthusiast learners from grade 4 participated in an interschool festival, ‘Vveaves’ a Festival Celebrating Creativity’, hosted by Vasant Valley School, Delhi. 10 students from Pathwasy School Noida participated in this two-day event. The event had students working with 10 different art forms like Indian music, Western music, Indian dance, Western dance, Percussion, Art, Craft, Theatre, Movement and Performing Pictures.
The event was weaved around the theme of ‘Over the Moon’ and ‘friendship’. On the first day students from different schools, joined their respective groups and began brainstorming their ideas, thoughts and started working on their respective art pieces. For example, the performing pictures group presented the story, ‘The King and the Moon’. The students not only shared their ideas but also came to know about the ancient art forms like ‘Patachitra: ancient artworks of Odisha’ and ‘Chinese Scroll’. The Indian music and the Western music knitted the theme, ‘Over the Moon’ and friendship beautifully into their songs which were written and composed by the children. The theatre group presented a skit on the theme with a strong message on overuse of gadgets (mobile phones) and depriving ourselves from the sheer joys in life.
All the conceptualization was done by the young learners on the first day of the festival that led to a beautiful show on the second day, which was a wonderful presentation of the aforementioned art forms.
The festival was a wonderful platform to encourage, share and learn from each other. It was an enriching experience for our Students, who displayed remarkable effort along with cementing an example of collaborative learning keeping up the Pathwaysian spirit!
