Formula 1 in Schools is an international STEM (Science, Technology Engineering, Mathematics) competition for School children, in which groups of 3–6 students must design and manufacture a miniature car out of the official F1 Model Block using CAD/CAM design tools. The cars are powered by CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) cartridges and are attached to a track via a nylon wire. The students had to design their own cars, portfolios and even find sponsors for their teams for promotion and funding! Their cars were tested on a track for their speed, reaction time and aerodynamics. The students mastered every technical aspect of the competition
The immense amount of hard work by Pathways World School’s students had finally paid off upon being selected for the National Round, after three long months of preparation and rigorous thinking. They not only got a chance to show off their skills but also had the opportunity to meet other budding designers and engineers.
