UDAAN- Dream, Soar, Achieve, Personal Project Exhibition

“Learning gives creativity
Creativity leads to thinking
Thinking provides knowledge
Knowledge makes you great.”
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Udaan – The Personal Project Exhibition culminated the idyllic journey of 126 Grade 10 students in the MYP Batch of 2018. The goal was to fly high and achieve the sky - “Dream, Soar, Achieve”. On 14th December, 2017 our young adults demonstrated a consolidation of their learning in the MYP. We recognized our enthusing journey to showcase our passion and determined endeavors towards excellence through the ‘Personal Project Exhibition’.

Our journey began a year ago when we ventured into obscure domains and initiated our projects with the guidance of our mentors and supervisors. Different ideas were conceived, discussed and executed. While one would ‘research and explore the health benefits and advantages of practicing Ayurveda’, another would go ahead and venture into programming websites. The sky was the limit. Such was the excellence of the Personal Project, where all experienced a flight and followed their own passions and interests.

Inauguration Programme entailed the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by the words of wisdom and inspiration from our MS Principal, Mr. Sumit Dargan. Thought provoking ideas of a Sahil Balani and Mansi Aggarwal about their Personal Project journeys were followed by a self-choreographed ‘Saraswati Vandana’ by Urjashi Laha (Grade 10) and the unveiling of the Personal Project Exhibits. The event was graced by the Founder Director, Mr. Prabhat Jain. Our School Executive Director, Dr. Sarvesh Naidu congratulated all for a rewarding journey and proclaimed to dream bigger and higher each time.

Captain Srishti J. Singh, our Guest of Honour, inaugurated the Exhibition. Capt. Srishti J Singh flies Boeing 737-800 to mostly all Middle East and Eastern Countries. She is one of the first Indian women ed for Aviatrix Art 2017 Calendar for the purpose of Cancer Funding in Europe which is done by Women Pilots for raising awareness and getting funds for charity. Ms. Singh shared her valuable insights on the five steps of ‘Achieving your dreams’ – Dream it, Believe in it, Plan, Execute, and Enjoy.

From innovations in technology to redesigning, from creating works of art to writing books, from designing modules to empowering the underprivileged, the second edition of our Personal Project journey was yet another accomplishment. Our perseverance towards all odds and the ability to achieve our goal with meticulous planning demonstrated the said adage, ‘Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep.’

We extend our gratitude to Ms. Achla Kakria and Ms. Swati Chhikara (Personal Project Coordinators), without whom our momentous journey would have been a mere wish. Also, a special thanks to all our Supervisors who guided us throughout to accomplish our goal.
