Round Square Conference@ PPS, Nabha

Round Square is a platform where students get opportunities to learn about different cultures and embrace all beliefs and ideologies, beyond boundaries. The Punjab Public School, Nabha hosted the Round Square Conference with the theme, ‘Greatness Out of Small Things’ from 8th December to 10th December. Six students from Grade 6 and 7 represented Pathways World School alongwith Ms. Supriya Khanna.

The Opening Ceremony was spectacular and we warmed up to all the delegates who had come from the 19 schools across South Asia and Gulf Region. The First Keynote Speaker, Col Karaminder Singh, Secretary of the Society for Welfare of the Handicapped shared various experiences, expounding the theme. This was followed by engaging and insightful Barazza sessions. The highlight of the day was the Art Workshop. According to their Barazza groups, the delegates were given a canvas to paint. Later it was put together to represent one picture depicting the theme.

Some wonderful interactions with the School Headmaster ensued during the Tea Break. In the evening, a magnificent Carnival, popularly called ‘Punjabi Potpourri’ was hosted. Delegates relished Punjabi delicacies and had a lot of fun. Mr. Harjit Harpal a well-known Punjabi singer entertained us with folk Music, adding to the perfect essence of Punjab.

The next day was equally joyous. Immediately after breakfast, the buses rolled down to Patiala, to Special Schools. The teachers of those schools taught the delegates the Sign Language. The participants also distributed gifts and friendship bands which brought smiles on the faces of special kids.

Post Lunch, the delegates witnessed a fantastic Equestrian Show. It was heartening to watch the riders perform remarkable feats. The evening was absorbed in the Cultural Programme put together by all participating Schools. Notes of appreciation and sounds of applause rung in the auditorium.

The last day of the Conference was graced by the Second Keynote Speaker Address, Ms. Shikha Shah, owner of Scrapshala, an organization with a mission to clear garbage and waste from the city and transform it into beautiful artifacts. She spoke of the brilliant work done by the organization and inspired many others to follow suit.

A special performance by the Special students of Patiala School for Deaf and Blind, brought the Closing Ceremony to a delightful closure.

It was a wonderful experience to breathe in the greatness of small things and appreciate its true measure and soak in the joys it brings.
