Welcome Letter (Academic Year 2018-19)
The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.
It gives me great joy to welcome all my students back to a new and exciting academic year 2018-19.
I hope the summer vacation has been a refreshing and a rejuvenating break! I look forward to a blessed, achievement filled and fulfilling year ahead!
At the outset, I would like to inform and keep our parent community updated on some of the news, initiatives and focus areas for this coming year.
A major milestone in PSG development program is the evaluation preparation visit of CIS and the Learning Principle visit of NEASC- ACE teams, scheduled between 11 to 13 September 2018.
As we progress towards the next steps for CIS and NEASC- ACE accreditation we will engage in a continual process of reflections on our practices working to achieve the transformational approaches to teaching and learning.
We wish to thank you for your continued support and look forward to having you being a part of this self-study and internal reflection process as well.
We are delighted to have strengthened our after-school program by venturing in the area of Performing Arts and Visual Arts. The Programme will be launched for the PYP students very soon. The school will keep you informed on the same.
Experiencing the Re-Invent U hub space, and the trans-disciplinary hands -on learning it nurtures, the school will further strengthen the experiential learning with an inquiry approach, computational thinking and the design mindset. Digital leadership and growth mindset is certainly the way forward. We have added the laser cutter to the design studio with the iMacs.
An out bound programme to Singapore was organised from 04 - 09 June 2018, and we had 59 students as part of this trip. It was a perfect merger of exploration, enjoyment, learning and growth. A delightful experience for students and teachers alike, as they created some unforgettable memories.
In order to make our students comfortable to the interface of e-assessment portal of IB, Pathways has developed its own digital platform – WIZEMEN. We shall be moving all e-assessments for students onto Wizemen. This platform will also be used for communication and student performance records and reporting. The school will conduct a parent orientation to familiarise you with the system. Henceforth Managebac will no longer be used by Pathways School Gurgaon.
MYP students represented Pathways School Gurgaon at the Kuala Lumpur World Scholars Cup. Out of 3 teams, 1 team has made it to the Yale round of the Scholar's Cup.
4 students of MYP are presently attending the Student Global Leadership Programme at the Punahou School, Honolulu, Hawai. We look forward to many more students being a part of this enriching programme in the future.
The DP result for the year 2017-18 has been the best so far with the highest being 43 points. 2 students received Bilingual Diplomas. The school's grade average for students who have been awarded the Diploma is 33.7 as compared to the global average of 29.7.

I will continue to encourage and insist on punctuality, attendance and discipline. As always, I believe and ask us all to be role models to each other. As a community, practicing the learner's profile is hugely significant and relevant in moving towards global citizenship and creating an impact in the world we live in.
I persist in enhancing and focusing on the quality of classroom transactions, professional development of our faculty, safety and security, student engagement and participation in all activities and programs. Participation and involvement boosts confidence, challenges one's inner self, taps unrealised potential, showcases talent and enables the student to enjoy and experience school years to the fullest!
As ever, I look forward to your continued support and partnering with the school to enhance the learning experiences and outcomes of our students.
