THE ART OF HAPPINESS BY THE DALAI LAMA
Pathways Aravali

On the 10th of August, a small group of students, accompanied by Mr. Hemant Singh, went on a day-trip to the Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi. They were to attend a talk by the Dalai Lama, on &lsquoThe Art of Happiness&rsquo.

At 10 o&rsquo clock sharp, a sudden hush fell around the auditorium: The Dalai Lama had arrived. There was a constant band of well-wishers around him, as he made his way to the stage. There was a definite shift in the atmosphere, as it went from bubbling enthusiasm, to a calm warmth all around the hall His very presence soothed the audience.

The Dalai Lama began the session with a speech about anger, and how it is both a source of violence and sadness. He further explained about how the present generation can make the world a better place by bringing several changes, starting with themselves. The message was clear throughout his talk: Knowledge plays an important role in creating cohesion. He preached to the seated audience about a lot of beautiful things which everyone vowed to practice. With a parting message of asking the hall&rsquos addressees to trust their inner beauty, the session concluded.

By the end of the lecture, there was a positive vibe circumambulating the room. The students had thoroughly enjoyed the seminar, which had brought forth several life lessons that they would cherish forever.
