Eye Camp at Aghapur village
Pathways Noida

On 17th March, our school’s Interact club and Student council, with the guidance of their facilitators, organized an ‘Eye camp’ for the community members at Aghapur village in association with the Rotary club of Delhi Monarch.

A team of Professional eye specialists from Rotary eye care center, visited the ‘Sai Bal Sansar School’ and conducted the eye checkup. We had large participation of community members at the camp. More than 200 registrations were made at the eye camp and about 89 glasses issued, 13 cataract surgeries signed up and 99 medicines were issued. The Interact students also provided for some light snacks and juice for all the patients. The Rotary Club of Monarch has willingly agreed to sponsor all the medicines, glasses, cataract surgeries etc. at this eye camp.

We had several guests from Rotary visit us on the day of camp including the Rotary district governor – Mr. Satish Singhal. All the guests visited the school, interacted with community members at the camp and also interacted with the students and principal of Sai Bal Sansar school and were very impressed at the good work done so far at school.

Art works by our pre- primary students added a different vibrancy to the exhibition. Textures made by toddlers were welcoming as they were placed near the entrance. Sea beds made by our pre- nursery students which were integrated with the theme &ndash sea animals, were a great attraction for parents as well as other visitors. Caterpillar butterfly toy by Nursery students were a proof of their deep understanding about growth and change in living things. Grade 1 celebrated their participation in the exhibition with Warli art. The artworks were created during the unit celebrations. A pond with origami fish gave a soothing back to the exhibition.

Also, this year, we have made great progress with the support of Rotary to refurbish the Sai Bal Sansar School. We are hopeful that our small steps will prove to be beneficial in the future to Sai Bal Sansar. As someone said ‘Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person’ and by always following this path, we aim to help many more people like this.
