On 14 December 2019, students of Grade 4 set up the information booths to promote sustainable practices and advocate the usage of a more sustainable and ecofriendly option to the materials that we use.
The students began inquiry into the theme ‘Sharing the Planet’ and focused on the sustainable practices. Later, they connected the same to their unit on New age Materials. They focused on the advantages and disadvantages of the materials. Students connected this to the aspect of durability, sustainability and ecofriendly aspect of the materials. It was heartening to see the way students connected the materials used earlier - like copper and jute making a comeback in a big way as people are becoming more environmentally conscious. The students invited the parents and the school community to raise awareness about the advantages and disadvantages of different materials so that the audience makes a conscious ecofriendly and sustainable choice. This platform also gave students a chance to communicate messages effectively to a wider audience. The parents and students shared the one change they would be making in their every day life to be more environmentally conscious.
